Product Name: Acretin Cream 0.025% - 30 g Scientific Name: Tretinoin How Tretinoin works: Tretinoin promotes the detachment of keratinocytes and promotes shedding. Tretinoin increases mitotic activity, thereby increasing the turnover of non-adherent keratinocytes. By doing so, the contents of the comedo can be expelled, while reducing the microscopic precursor lesion of acne vulgaris. Special medical uses: Acretin Cream is used to treat acne. How to use Acretin Cream: Doses may be changed in special circumstances, so always follow the instructions of your doctor or pharmacist. If you take more than you should, talk to your doctor or go to the hospital immediately. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose. Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose. Side effects of Acretin Cream Although the following side effects are not common to everyone, some patients may complain of: Dryness, scaling, mild burning/stinging, redness of the skin, discomfort and itching Pregnancy and breast-feeding precautions while taking Acretin Cream: If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Your doctor will discuss the possible risks and benefits of using this medicine during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Helpful tips: Wash affected areas with a gentle cleanser. Try over-the-counter acne products to dry up excess oils and promote peeling. Avoid irritants. Protect your skin from the sun. Avoid rubbing or pressing on your skin. Avoid touching or picking acne-prone areas. Bathe after strenuous activities. Warnings and precautions when taking Acretin Cream: Do not use this medicine on areas with cuts or scrapes or on sunburned skin or if you have a skin condition called eczema. Contact with the eyes, mouth or corners of the nose and avoid other sensitive areas of your body. Exposure to strong sunlight and artificial ultraviolet light. If you experience sensitivity or irritation when using this medicine, stop using it and contact your doctor.
